Glass is a non crystalline solid material, it is hard and optically transparent.
Its main ingredients are: Sand, Soda ash and Limestone
Characteristics:

  • Commercial glass or Soda-lime glass
  • Lead glass
  • Borosilicate glass
  • Aluminosicate glass
  • Ninety-six percent silica glass

Conclusions about the use of glass in architecture:
Today, glassis used all over the world. A designer's pursuit for transparency, weghtlessness and luminosity has been fulfilled by glass. Most major projects around the world use glass in some way to add beauty to buildings and create astounding pieces of art. Glass also has some characteristics that makes it a perfect element for creating specific parts of a building or a house that any other element could.
